It's not just that I don't really know what I'm doing. Maybe I just get intimidated when everyone asks me all of the little details about my wedding. Fact of the matter is I've only been engaged a week and there's not much I can do until I have a date and a location set.
I'm working on that... I promise!
However, I do have a little help. I bought the most amazing book at Barnes and Noble. It's called the Simple Stunning Wedding Organizer. This binder/book includes checklists for everything, what to ask all of the vendors, a timeline, a final contact list for the wedding party, master guest list, and pockets for everything. It's AMAZING!
To those people who are out there, what did you do (or would you do) for your wedding? Did you go to a wedding coordinator, use websites like the knot, or did you simply do it all yourself? If you have any suggestions, let me know!
Theknot.com is amazing! I did pretty much everything myself. I had my mom and Josh for opinions and to make stuff (a lot was DIY), but other than that, I just did it. It's not that hard. Time consuming, but fun to plan it all myself. I let Josh do what he was good at: Music. I barely knew anything about it except for one of the songs during the wedding.
ReplyDeleteI did put a person in charge of making sure everything happened on time at the ceremony and receptions. My aunt took care of the wedding-- making sure it started on time and everyone was where they were supposed to be at the right time, cueing the music, etc. And my sister-in-law had a timeline for the reception and had free reign to do whatever-- tell people to go ahead and eat- talk to the DJ-- whatever the timeline said, she made sure it got done. They both did a great job, too!
Check out www.weddingchannel.com. They have a step by step check list of things you need to do each month prior to the wedding. It was my GUIDE for my wedding and I've been very stress-free since everything was done at the right time!
